Our downstairs is one big empty space. It used to be full of people 6 days a week when I held Pilates classes down there for 8 years. I have loved having the space free of furniture and wall decor since I closed my business. a few years ago.
I am having a small birthday party down there this week.
I pulled out all my mirrors and used them on the walls to create a reflection of what happens in the space rather than just S T U F F hanging. I also used aluminum foil smashed in frames to add to the sparkle/simple/easy peasy decor.
This will all come down next week but it is fun to try a new look down there.
Try using mirrors and aluminum foil (even just raw on a wall or over a door) in a bedroom for a month. It creates an interesting feel to a room. Candlelight doubles up reflections and makes it luvvly jubbly.

BREAKFAST.
This morning I sat on the hearth (we don't have fires upstairs anymore so I cleaned the pit and sprayed Pam on the brick to enhance the texture..... just burning candles there now) to eat my breakfast. I looked down at my board/bowl and thought I needed to share my luvvly jubbly breakfast with you.
If you cut your food up in a wooden bowl or on a board just use it to eat out of. Less to clean and easy peasy.
This is a marmy/out of focus photo of the beautiful salmon, blueberries and avocado. It was prettier in real life.....and delicious.
I used the avocado half for my candle for the bath that I took in my avocado bathtub.
Have a beautiful January 4, 2012.

Lost&Found.
For over 10 years I have had the honor to work with Lost & Found of the Ozarks Grief Center.
They hold group sessions for young (age 2) to adult (any age) people/families to help them walk through their grief after the death of a loved one.
They celebrated 10 years in 2011. Their work is stellar and they have helped so many people.
Below is a piece I created with fingerprints of the younger members of L&F.
Below is a ceramic tile that I designed for their upcoming Evening of Hope event at Hickory Hills Country Club. This is their annual charity auction.
Lost & Found can always use volunteers. If you feel like it might be a good fit for you give them a call.

10 minute leggies for a movie date.
My husBOB invited me to go see "The girl with the dragon tatoo" and I was all a flitter.
I snuck into my work room and created some sexy thigh high leggings to wear on the date.
Here is all you do:
Cut an unwanted sweater arm from the wrist all the way up to the neckline allowing as much length as possible. Stitch a narrow leg allowance from the bottom (cuff) all the way up to the top keeping it slim to hug tight to your thigh to prevent the thigh highs from slipping down your leg.
The cuff of the (prelife) sweater is now at your ankle and over your heel. The thigh high is a snug fit over and above the knee.
Oh, BTW.....I cut the top off my little black and white summer dress and....instantly!!! a high waisted luvvly jubbly skirt!
This is only possible if there is a zipper in your skirt. Also, please adjust the new waist line with darts to create a snug fit.
BTW, besties....
We L O V E D the movie!

Hair clips.
Now that my hair is white/grey when I have little crazy ends flip out when I am rocking a pony tail, I need help. I covered my old brown hair clips with white/grey hair colored leather, wool, newspsper, linen, brown paper bag...bob's your uncle.
If you have any of those marmy hair extension clips (they H O L D) use them for hair clips. You can leave them the way they are (silver and generic...my fav) or cover them.
These little clips are good surprise new years presents for your besties.

2012 and time to clean my refrigerator.
Leftovers in drawer. Otherwise, half and half , eggs no one eats and Greek yogurt. Oh...potatoes in a B.P.B.
Lonely apple.Hi Jubblers,
Over the holidays when besties were over and they got hungry I said, "look and see what's in the kitchen".
This morning I took a good look and decided it was time to clean out the refrigerator.
Basically, it was empty. Buying fresh makes it almost possible for us not to own a refrigerator. I don't like ice that much so I really could survive. The cream for my coffee would be missed but that is about it. I don't eat dairy much. In the winter we could use the outside for storage. Just a thought.
I hope you all brought in 2012 with a smile.
