R I T dye.....one of my besties.
I am almost ashamed to talk about using my ordinary washing machine with a box of JoAnn's RIT dye to change the color of fabrics.
There are so many rock star blogger besties that REALLY dye wool and yarn with authentic techniques that are organic and blooming awesome.
Oh well.
Below is a sweater that my bestie recreated using tea bags to alter the white to tea stained off white, hobo appliques and morphing 2 sweaters together. I think it is luvvly jubbly.
This bestie asked me to put a little something with it to make it more posh and party going ready.
S I M P L E.
RIT dye.
My goal was to allow her fabulous work to shine. My guess was that making the hobo patches and other details of the new sweater have a slightly additional connection with eachother was what it needed. Dying the wool, cotton and other blends pink gave everything a boost of perk in color. I loved the sweater before and I am blooming mad about it now too.
When you dye a garment and suspect that it may move on to another home, create a laundry label. This prevents pink under wear and t-shirts in it's new home.
Have fun with dye. I use it places I shouldn't but everybody gets over it.

Lip stick/balm/gloss to suit your hair and complextion.

When I was younger my mother used to say to me, "someday you will wear lipstick". I didn't believe her.
As long as I can remember knowing my mom wore lipstick and I was beginning to be interested in it I found out what her favorite color/brand was.
It was Estee' Lauder in S T A R L I T P I N K. From then on I began buying her this for birthdays, Mother's Day or Christmas. She wore this ALL of her life. She had beautiful white hair and it was 100% her posh color.
After I began my journey towards grey hair it became evident that I did NEED to wear lipstick.
I had fun creating my own colors and blends of high coverage or light sheer.
It is EASY PEASY and I want to tell you how to do it.
WARNING:
I am 100% make up free in these photos. I try to be authentic and embrace my brown spots, bald eye brows, lines and sagging ?????? (i am not sure what this matter of flesh is called) neck.
Sunday morning and I am blooming happy and want to rock my new lipstick!
Begin with a pot of Carmex (I buy it at Dollar General for $1.00).
Using a tiny spoon like anything or a bobbie pin, scoop out some Carmex and use the lid as your mixing pot. Put in about a quarter size dollop. Luvvly jubbly.
Dig out barmy eye shadows from your closet or go to Dollar General and buy $1.00 compacts. Select ones that have nice colors you like for lips. Be certain there is a white on the palette. You will need it to lighten/adjust your lip color.
Here is where my mix was too dark so I lightened it with white. Please add CLEAR LIPGLOSS to liquify your blend if you want it less like lipstick and more like a sheer gloss. Please add enough of the eye powder to pack in the stay on power. I believe that lip stuff from the store that doesn't stay on is low on the mica powder color. By this I mean opaque color not bright color. Maybe it is a little bit like a second or third coat of paint in the first application.
This final step looks a bit marmy messy and it is. You may invent a better method for your self. I like to screw the Carmex lid right onto the original Carmex pot. It gives me access to the raw balm and my new luvvly jubbly lip color at the same time. Sometimes I glue a tiny round mirror on the top of the pot. Headband Aunt Nonie taught me to do this. One time we scouted every store in town for lipstick mirrors and she purchased 50 of them. Every tube of lipstick she owns has a circle mirror on the top. I love you, Aunt Nonie.
I think all I will wear today is my luvvly jubbly lipstick. As your hair and skin change it is nice to be able to adjust your pot of lip color.

Do you love your bed?
I DO.
When I walk into our bedroom I see one piece of furniture....a bed.
We have owned this bed nearly our whole marriage. Most years it lives in the middle of the bedroom like an island. Easy to walk around and luvvly jubbly from ever angle.
Right now we have it closer to the west wall. Not a feng shui thing but a good energy spot that allows us to watch the sun set.
My love of this bed stems from the low stress personality that it has. It looks good messy and lived in. It looks like a rock star no matter what the rest of the room looks like.
I believe in white/ivory/cream/luvvly jubbly shades that are monocratic for all sheets, blankets, pillow slips, bed covers, bob's your uncle.
The simplicity of this palette makes life easy peasy.
I use pillow cases made out of paint drop cloths, muslin, raw silk, burlap potato bags, linen piece goods, vintage table cloths, grandmother, Rere's tatting trim and regular white pillow slips from K-mart.
I make our sheets out of worn in vintage white table cloths (pieced together using French seams for comfort) and raw silk (washed and softened) yardage. The bottom sheet is easy peasy to tailor into a fitted sheet by boxing the corners. It is nice to be able to make a sheet that REALLY fits your mattress. Don't worry about hemming. A raveled edge is beautiful.
I like to let the different layers of bedding hang down revealing the multi textures and shades of white. It takes about 10 seconds to smooth and throw the bedding up and call the bed MADE. This sets a relaxed expectation for all who make this bed. I used to stress out when things were not blooming perfect...corners square..etc. At least a decade ago I threw this worry out the window.
I love the texture of this raw silk. I bought 5 yards on senior citizen's day at Salvation Army for $3.00.
Maybe it would be luvvly if you could rethink your standards of how a bed should be made. It might be a nice change.

Birthday party favors.
GREETINGS JUBBLERS!
I hope today finds you healthy, crafting, smiling, loving, forgiving, GIVING and clear headed about your happiness.
I promise not to bore you with this again (if I can help it) but I love taking my time and having a little party with myself when I make breakfast. I put on vintage John Mayer (blasting the roof off) and drink my glass of warm water. This is a family tradition (headband Aunt Nonie in Seattle) that is a nice ritual.
After that I do this.
Make a blueberry pancake.
Chia seeds (gobs)
Ground flax seed (gobs)
Healthy flour
X virgin olive oil
Baking powder (organic)
Applesause (organic)
Pumpkin (organic)
Honey (bob's your uncle)
Blueberries

I am just learning to knit (my bestie Dulcy is my teacher...BTW...did you know that "dulcy" is greek for charming?...she is) and I am not ready to show you anything. REALLY.
I was so set on doing these rings for my birthday girls. I decided to set up a little welcome to my party table. Instead of knitting rings I will WRAP fingers and wrists with my luvvly jubbly purple alpaca yarn that Courtney spun and dyed for me. I will then have my besties dip their fingers and wrists into a bowl of warm water with a little liquid soap. Next she will use a towel to rub rub rub and dry her new ring and bracelet right on her body. They felt up nice and F I T with perfection!
